Creating and maintaining a safer school environment is the primary goal of every SRO…but how exactly should law enforcement prepare for a challenge of that magnitude? The Ohio School Resource Officers Association is hosting this five-day basic training to assist SROs in equipping themselves with the information and skills they need to identify, address and prevent crime and violence in Ohio schools. The 36-hour course curriculum will cover SROs major responsibilites as well as Ohio School Laws, Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) for SROs, and tips on implementing an SRO in a school environment. Certificates will be distributed to students who successfully attend all sessions and  complete course exercises.

Presenters
Presenters are a combination of certified Ohio School Resource Officers and professionals in the fieldsof school law and the Ohio Department of Education.

Agenda: Monday - Friday:
8:00 – 11:30 Morning sessions
11:30 – 12:45 p.m. Lunch (on your own)
12:45 – 5:00 p.m. Afternoon sessions (12:00 p.m. dismissal on Friday)

Location:
Directions to the training site will be provided in a confirmation letter that will be sent upon acceptance to the training.

Cost:
Registration is $370. Fee includes materials during the workshop,OPOTA classroom fee and one year complimentary OSROA Membership.

Please note:Overnight accommodations are not included in this fee. Local hotel information will be provided in a confirmation letter. Cancellations must be made one week prior to the seminar date.
